Lowe’s ABLE International Day of Persons with Disabilities Ask Me Anything Panel Discussion

Picture of LOWES PresentationIn acknowledgment and celebration of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, Lowe’s ABLE program hosted an Ask Me Anything Panel discussion featuring Andrew Matznick with The Ability Experience, Tammy King with the Shepherd Center, and Stephanie Young with Challenge Enterprises.  Jamie Furey, Vice Chair of ABLE, was the moderator for this Q&A session that included members from Canada, India, and the US.

The conversation focused on empowering associates, customers, and communities with knowledge about disabilities, to create an inclusive and inspiring culture that empowers and enables people of ALL abilities.  There was also a discussion on the impact of the pandemic and how shared experiences, even in a virtual world, have brought about a different perspective and opportunities for inclusion.

“If I had to wrap up today’s conversations with a bow and give it as a gift, I would say: It is not a disability.  It is a unique ability and it takes all of our collective unique abilities to make community work.”  -Stephanie Young, Challenge Enterprises
