From his humble beginnings as a transfer student at Clarion University to his current role as an Employment Specialist in the Supportive Employment department of Challenge Enterprises, Frye’s path exemplifies the transformative power of education, mentorship, and community engagement.

A Fresh Start at Clarion University:

In 2012, Eric Frye made a pivotal decision to leave Seton Hill University and transfer to Clarion University. Motivated by a desire for a fresh start and a genuine “college experience,” Frye found himself drawn to Clarion’s larger campus environment that aligned with his aspirations. His collegiate journey was marked by his active involvement in sports, particularly football, which played a significant role in shaping his character and work ethic.

Passion for Mentoring and Youth Engagement:

During his time at Clarion, Frye’s engagement in sports ignited a burgeoning passion for working with young individuals. This passion led him to create a mentoring program called SecureTheKid, aimed at providing a platform for youth to express their frustrations and learn coping techniques through meditation. Frye’s experiences in coaching youth sports and interacting with students set the foundation for his future endeavors.

Empowering Inner-City Schools:

Frye’s journey took him to inner-city schools, including Arsenal Middle School in Pittsburgh’s Lower Lawrenceville neighborhood. These experiences solidified his desire to create a lasting impact on the lives of the youth he encountered. Even amidst the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, Frye’s unwavering dedication remained evident. He collaborated with the VendSpin program to ensure that struggling students and their families received essential resources like free lunches and care packages.

Impactful Role at Challenge Enterprises:

Upon joining Challenge Enterprises and relocating to Florida, Frye’s commitment to making a difference continued to shine. He devoted his free time to the Police Athletic League of Clay County, where he served as a football coach and a positive role model for the youth. Furthermore, Frye took the initiative to enhance his skills by participating in Challenge Enterprises’ 20-hour class courses, where he shared his motivational journey and emphasized the importance of determination and employment.

Empowering Through Support and Coaching:

Frye’s impact extended beyond the classroom as he assisted with the Walgreens OJT program. In this role, he mentored interns, guiding them in completing their tasks professionally and effectively. His dedication to his role showcased his exceptional collaboration skills and his genuine love for helping others succeed.
