Clubs have often served the community by being a place while like-minded individuals can come together in support of common goals. Club Challenge was designed to be the bridge for persons with different abilities to developed and nurture social engagement skills, while accomplishing personal and professional goals.
Paul E. & Klare N. Reinhold Foundation, Inc. have recognized Club Challenge not only for the outstanding service to the community, but also for the essential services they provide to adults with differences on their road to greater independence and employment. One member who has become an ambassador for this mission, is Billy Larson.
Billy has been with the club for several months, taking pride in volunteering for his community while pursuing his personal goals. Through his work with the Vocational Rehabilitation program, Billy has improved his personal or professional skills preparing him for an opportunity to seek greater independence through employment. This spring Billy secured employment with the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp Ball Park.
Billy shows true grit as one of the most dedicated and willing members of the Club. “Since he started at Club Challenge, he has demonstrated nothing but positive personal growth. He has earned high marks and recognition from his employer for his outstanding efforts with guests at the ballpark, “remarked Jim Hickerson, a Supportive Employment Trainer with Challenge Enterprises.
Billy has always had a passion for two things: sports and the Jacksonville Jaguars. During his time with the Jacksonville Shrimp, Billy continued to hone his talents in customer service. His progress quickly became his steppingstone to securing employment with SAFE Management at TIAA Bank Stadium, home of the Jacksonville Jaguars…his dream job!
