Lighthouse Learning Center -VPK & Preschool

Lighthouse Learning Center is a VPK & preschool education center for all children 12 months to 5 years. The children enrolled have different abilities (Downs Syndrome, Autism, Learning Disabilities, Cerebral Palsy, Spina Bifida, Hearing and or Visually impaired), and others are typical developing children all learning in an inclusive setting.

Children attending Lighthouse have structured programming with a developmentally appropriate curriculum to meet the educational goals for school readiness. Therapy services (Physical, Occupational and Speech Pathology), nursing assistance and support services from the Clay County School professionals are onsite.

The facility provides a nurturing and family-oriented environment for the preschool student. The staff is qualified to meet the needs of the children and have certifications from the State of Florida Department of Children and Family Services and Clay County School Board’s professional requirements.

 Parents are involved in their child’s education by participating in the Individual Education Plans and in school activities such as a Fall Festival, Holiday and Community events and fun-filled educational activities.

The educational goal is preparation for Kindergarten. The highlight for Lighthouse students and families is “Graduation Day” to Clay County’s “Big School” Kindergarten. Once you walk into the Lighthouse facility, it is apparent this school is very child-friendly. We strive to always be creative, giving each classroom in the school a theme named after fish and ocean animals. Each classroom has a unique name and identity. The classrooms are: The Parrotfish, Butterfly, Seahorse, Angel, Dolphin, Sunfish, Starfish, and Stingray. Our new and fun school mascot, Leo the Lighthouse, keeps watch over the different classrooms in the school. Classrooms have size appropriate chairs, tables, cubbies, and specially designed restrooms suitable for potty-training. Colorful educational posters, carpets, and updated sensory room is just the right level of stimulation needed for the children to learn at Lighthouse Learning Center. Please continue to watch us grow!
