Adult Training Services

The Onsite Adult Developmental Training Center is located at 3530 Enterprise Way in Green Cove Springs, in a 16,000sq ft climate controlled warehouse.  The program operates on a year round basis.  Adults with varying disabilities such as Downs Syndrome, Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Spina Bifida and Visual and Hearing impairments are engaged in individualized programs. Funding for this training program is provided in part by the State of Florida Agency for Persons with Disabilities ( www.apd.myflorida.com ) private pay and contributions.

There are five training rooms and a large kitchen area where adults have an opportunity to participate in activities of their choice. These activities may include activities of daily living, meal preparation, computer skills, table games, and Wii Sports. Trained volunteers schedule their time at the Center to conduct Bingo, work as a partner on puzzles, discuss current events, and teach a new skill. Volunteers have a great time sharing their time and talents.

The Off Site Adult Developmental Training activities provide individuals opportunities to train on the job at government facilities and at commercial settings under the direction of Challenge Enterprises Project Managers. The individuals with disabilities preparing for independent employment in their home communities have regular scheduled job assignments to gain the competitive skills.

Challenge Enterprises offers the employee assistance when he/she is ready and prepared to seek gainful community employment.
